Ongoing Projects and Initiatives

Sliperiet acts both as a site and as a catalyst for research and innovation. We develop research areas and projects together with all faculties at Umeå University, and we initiate and  run collaborative projects with a large number of industry, as well as public and third sector partners.

Sliperiet are currently involved - either as project lead or key player in ten or so research and innovation projects with funding from:

- Tillväxtverket
- Vinnova
- Hakon Swensons Foundation
Umeå Municipality
- Region of Västerbotten
- Stiftelsen Marcus och Amalia Wallenbergs Minnesfond
- Balticgruppens donationsstiftelse

Four PhD students have been employed through these projects, in the areas of Business, Informatics, Applied Physics and Engineering. We also have a number of post docs employed within the projects that are running.
